The Nigeria Climate Adaptation-Erosion and Watershed Project (NEWMAP-EIB) is a €175 million, 5-year initiative launched in 2025 to tackle severe soil erosion, flooding, and watershed degradation across 23 Nigerian states. Assisted by the European Investment Bank (EIB), it builds on the initial World Bank-funded NEWMAP, focusing on engineering solutions, climate-resilient landscape management, and livelihoods support.
